Log Off and Let the World Burn

So I think this weekend I’m gonna finally do it. A good ol’ social media spring cleaning… or beginning-of-summer cleaning—whichever label makes you feel better about the fact that time is moving way too damn fast.

I’m talking about deleting. Purging. Nuking the garbage. I’ve got way too many social media accounts that I don’t even use anymore. Apps I open out of pure habit, scroll for two minutes, and then feel like the world’s on fire. Rinse and repeat. Why am I doing that to myself?

Here’s the plan: most of ’em are getting deleted. Straight up gone. And even the ones I decide to keep—Facebook, Instagram, whatever—they’re getting booted off my phone. They’ll live on my tablet at home, and that’s it. No more notifications blowing up my phone. No more doomscrolling while I’m supposed to be enjoying a cup of coffee or living my actual damn life.

The only app I’m keeping on my phone? My WordPress app. Because writing is my outlet. That’s where I vent, rant, share, or just talk to myself and whoever else stumbles in. Everything else? It’s just noise.

There’s too much crap going on in the world, and honestly, I don’t wanna know about it anymore. I’ve got my own little bubble, my little hole in the wall life, and I like it that way. Let the world burn in the background—I’ll be over here, petting my dogs, drinking coffee, and not giving a damn about someone’s political rant or another TikTok “expert” yelling into their camera.

Sometimes peace looks like deleting an app and not looking back.
