Reality Doesn’t Care About Your Feelings

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

The best advice I’d give to someone younger than me is simple:

You are not entitled to a damn thing.

Not happiness. Not success. Not a good job. Not a nice house. Not respect. Not even a participation trophy for existing. The world doesn’t owe you anything just because you showed up.

If you want something, earn it.

Want respect? Be someone worth respecting.

Want success? Put in the work when nobody’s watching.

Want a better life? Make better choices than the people around you who spend all day complaining about theirs.

Somewhere along the way people started confusing wanting something with deserving it. Those are two completely different things. I want a million dollars and a beach house. Doesn’t mean either one is showing up tomorrow.

Life isn’t fair. It never was. It never will be. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can stop wasting energy being angry about it and start building the life you actually want.

Nobody is coming to save you. Nobody is going to hand you the keys to the kingdom. That’s the bad news.

The good news is that if you earn what you get, nobody can take the satisfaction away from you.

Get up. Do the work. Stop expecting free rides.

The world has enough passengers. Be the person driving the damn bus.
