Eric Foltin is a Meals on Wheels driver, amateur photographer, geocacher, camper, technology enthusiast, ordained minister in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and lifelong believer that the internet was more interesting when every website looked different. This website serves as a personal blog, archive, project repository, digital notebook, and occasionally a place to document whatever happens to be occupying my attention at the moment. Rather than chasing trends, algorithms, engagement metrics, or social media popularity contests, this site focuses on something much simpler: creating and maintaining a personal space on the web.
My interests include geocaching, camping, photography, Linux, WordPress, retro computing, punk rock, personal websites, small web projects, and keeping the old internet spirit alive before the whole thing became six apps wearing a corporate logo.
I’ve always been drawn to older technology and the early web. Personal websites, web rings, guestbooks, blogs, forums, and handcrafted pages represented a version of the internet built by individuals rather than corporations. Much of the design inspiration for this site comes from that era. The terminal-style appearance, simple navigation, and focus on written content are all intentional choices.
Outside of technology, I enjoy traveling back roads, visiting small towns, searching for geocaches, camping, taking photographs, watching movies, listening to punk rock, and finding new ways to break things that were working perfectly five minutes earlier.
When I’m not working or maintaining the site, I’m usually exploring a new geocache, taking photographs, watching classic films, spending time outdoors, or experimenting with another website project. Some people collect things. I collect hobbies, unfinished ideas, and browser tabs.
This site contains blog posts, project updates, technical notes, photographs, archives, writing prompts, geocaching logs, personal observations, and whatever else seems worth preserving. Think of it as a digital filing cabinet connected to the internet, documenting projects, experiences, and ideas one post at a time.
