What’s one piece of travel advice you always follow?
My best travel advice? Travel alone or with someone you actually enjoy being around. For me, that’s my wife. Keep the group small, keep the schedule loose, and leave room for things you never planned on seeing. I don’t need a color-coded itinerary, seventeen reservations, and a spreadsheet telling me when I’m allowed to have fun. This isn’t a corporate project. It’s a vacation.
I like going somewhere new and figuring it out as I go. Walk around. Explore. Find some weird little place nobody mentioned online. Take a wrong turn and see what’s there. No schedule. No pressure. No running around trying to cram every tourist attraction into three days because some travel website says they’re mandatory. The less planned, the better. Sometimes the best part of traveling is having absolutely no idea what you’re doing next. I’m Gen X. We survived without GPS telling us which way to walk. We can handle a vacation without a project manager, too.
