What are your favorite side-hustle ideas? I honestly don’t give a shit anymore. I did two jobs for 15 years. Two paychecks. Two schedules. Two sets of people needing something from me. Somewhere along the way, “make extra money” turned into “congratulations, you now have no life.”
I’m old and tired. There was a time when I could work all day, go to another job, come home and still function like a human being. Apparently, that model has an expiration date. Mine expired somewhere around the point where getting home from work became the highlight of the day.
The internet keeps telling us to start a side hustle. Drive for this. Deliver that. Sell shit online. Freelance. Flip furniture. Start a YouTube channel. Apparently we’re all supposed to have a second career after our first career, because capitalism looked at having one job and decided that wasn’t enough entertainment.
I’m done with it. I have one job now. One. I show up, I work, I go home. That is enough. I don’t need a “passive income stream.” I need to sit down. I need to eat something. I need to watch some stupid shit on TV and not think about work for a few hours.
Gen X already did the side hustle. We called it working. We did it because we had to, not because some guy on TikTok made a spreadsheet about financial freedom. I’m old. I’m tired. I have one job. That’s enough for this old ass.
