NO INFLUENCERS. NO BRAND. JUST ME.

What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?

I had never owned a camper. So naturally, I bought one and decided the first trip should be from Ohio to South Dakota and Wyoming. Because apparently buying a camper and taking it halfway across the country for its first trip was the logical thing to do. No practice run. No easing into it. Just hook it up and go. It was rough. There were things we figured out the hard way, things that didn’t go exactly according to plan, and plenty of moments where I probably wondered what the hell I had gotten myself into.

But we did it. Ohio to South Dakota to Wyoming and back. The camper survived. We survived. We saw places we’d never seen, dealt with the inevitable problems, laughed at some of them, cursed at others, and came home with a hell of a story. It wasn’t perfect, and that’s probably why I remember it. Sometimes you don’t need a five-year plan, a spreadsheet, or a committee meeting to do something. Sometimes you just buy the damn camper, point the truck west, and see what happens.
