Fiction Can Wait.
If you could pick any fictional animal to be your lifelong companion (like a Pokémon or fantasy pet), what would it be?
There’s a question going around: if you could pick any fictional animal to be your lifelong companion, like a Pokémon or some fantasy creature, what would you choose? Easy. I wouldn’t pick anything fictional. I already got the best one. Jersey. My Saint Bernard. No magic powers. No fire-breathing. No teleporting. Just a giant dog with a huge head, a bigger heart, and the ability to somehow take up approximately 94% of whatever room she’s standing in.

Jersey is the best dog I’ve ever had. Period. She’s one of those dogs that makes you realize dogs somehow got the whole living thing figured out while humans were busy inventing meetings and passwords. She’s loyal, goofy, loving, and just wants to be around her people. If I could have one fictional animal for life, I’d still pick Jersey. Except she isn’t fictional, which makes the whole question kind of stupid. The only upgrade I’d ask for is one impossible thing: I want her to live forever. Because eventually every dog gets old, and that part of the deal absolutely sucks. I’d happily keep the same giant slobbery Saint Bernard forever.
